Juvenile macular dystrophy (JMD), also known as juvenile macular degeneration, is a set of inherited eye disorders that primarily impact children and young adults. Unlike age-related macular degeneration, which takes place as part of the natural aging process, juvenile macular dystrophy results from genetic inheritance.
